What this site covers
Five subjects, each of which turns out to matter before you spend money on a set of tracks.
- The systems themselves — the Camso ATV T4S and X4S, the Kimpex Commander WS4, the Mattracks EZ line, the Polaris OEM kit and the discontinued lines you will meet on a used machine, each with what its maker publishes about it.
- What fits which quad — published applications per make and model year, the manufacturer conditions attached to individual rows, and what those conditions mean when you order.
- Working out what you have — settling what a machine is called before anyone can say what fits it, and putting a name to a system already bolted to a used quad.
- Where a tracked quad may ride — state by state, from each state’s own statutes and agency pages, plus the cross-cutting questions: roads and shoulders, groomed trails, public land, registration, insurance.
- Living with a set — trailering, off-season storage, and what to look at on a used system before you buy it. What the parts are called is the vocabulary underneath all of it.
Two things worth knowing before you read any of it
An absent row is not a verdict. Where no manufacturer publishes an application for a machine, the wording here is no published application. That means there is no published fitment to check yours against — not that nothing can be made to work. It is a question to put to whoever would sell and install the system.
Footprint figures do not compare across makers.Camso publishes ground coverage, Kimpex publishes flotation surface, and neither states how the figure is taken. Use the number for the system going on your machine and do not set it against the other maker’s.

On prices
No price appears here for a Camso or Kimpex system. Both are sold through dealers, the mount kit is vehicle-specific so the total depends on your machine, and the figure moves between seasons — a number printed in a blog post would be wrong before you read it. Ask for a quote with the model year and the trim as it is badged in front of you. Where a manufacturer publishes a list price itself, it is quoted here with its source and the date it was read.
